MEN’S FASHION MAGAZINE

All it takes is a walk through London to see that fashion has truly become a mans sport. Fashion is no longer confined to the runways or the billboards, rather, male fashionistas are storming the streets with style and they are growing in numbers. Photographer Danny Lowe went out to capture some of these men and see what fashion really means to the everyday lad.

Daniel
One of our top picks from the men of London was 32-year-old publicist Daniel. With a mix of different brand names, including Dunhill, Zara and H&M, Daniel has mixed old-school sophistication with modern-day chic. He describes his style as Colonel English Gent and appreciates classic pieces and quality tailoring, adding a touch of vintage with his brown bag, which alongside his Church’s shoes, are a beautiful touch that completes his look. In this case, Daniel has proven that less most definitely, is more. When it comes to London Fashion, Daniel boasts that London’s is the most collective in the world, adding, “A lot of Londoners have pride in their appearance and they’re not afraid of trying something new or alternative”
James
This is definitely the case of 40 year old Journalist, James. An outfit full of Vintage treasures from markets and various shops (paired with an impressive beard), it is no surprise that James describes his personal style as vintage-inspired. He prefers ‘the look’ that represents the man than the man being represented by the look. When asked about London style he simply responded “What is London Style”, proving that maybe fashion isn’t something that can be pin-pointed as easily as many think.
Marqus
It is exactly this notion that James raised that 20-year-old student Marqus supports. Another Vintage dresser, Marqus believes that London fashion has a solid foothold for all styles of fashion, tailoring, street culture and alternative styles, giving much praise to East London as having the most inspiring emerging Street Style. For him personally, Marqus believes music and media influence his style.
Michael
Media influence is incredibly important to fashion, with male style icons such as David Gandy influencing many young budding fashionistas. One of these being 22-year-old singer/songwriter Michael. With a simple, yet incredibly chic outfit comprising of Ralph Lauren, H&M, and a beautiful scarf from Lyle and Scott, Michael’s use of pieces that fit his style and personality make the entire outfit work. He himself says he knows what suits him best and goes for style and quality when shopping.
I guess it all comes down to you. Just by walking down the streets there is an array of different looks, styles and fashions screaming out at us, each just as stylish as the next. Either way, there is no denying, that men in London most definitely know about fashion! Which is your favourite look? Let us know in the comments below.
